Watch Tyrone defend his British Super Lightweight title against Jack Catterall on 21st October 2017, First Direct Arena, Leeds.
When and how did you start yoga?
Roughly the beginning of 2014. I spent a lot of time staring at classes thinking, "it can't be that hard if all these old lasses are doing it!". Eventually, the instructor Claire invited me in so I gave it a go. I've been a common yogi ever since...
What style of yoga do you practice?
Iyengar.
How has it changed your life?
I'd always been fairly flexible beforehand, so it was never an intention to be better 'right now'. I was seeking the long term benefits for my career and generally taking care of my body. I've found that since practicing, many of my niggling injuries have either gone or rarely surface.
What is your most memorable yoga moment?
There's been too many through the years - they were all other peoples moments but nevertheless funny! Failed handstands are always a winner.
What makes a great yoga teacher?
I've only ever experienced three different teachers - most of which has been with my current teacher Claire. She has the ability to make the class fun as well as being strict when and where it needs to be. I guess it's just being able to create a good, friendly environment whilst learning.
What is your favourite pose and why?
The final pose... Relaxation.
What do you do when not doing yoga?
As a professional boxer I don't have much time other than training, so any spare time is spent with friends and family - or as much of it as possible!
What are you listening to?
Something with lots of cursing in probably. The last song I played was Kevin Gates - Really Really
What are you reading?
I don't read much at all. I'm still a kid - I like to look at the pictures!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don't want to grow up.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you choose?
Something powerful and scary. Along the lines of a great white shark or a tiger.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Me - who could play the role better than myself? Plus the pay is good...
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Chinese food, Lucozade and sweets. When I'm not dieting for fights I'm a human waste bin.
When are you happiest?
When I'm with my daughters Sienna and Penelope. There isn't a better feeling in life.
What is your greatest fear?
I'm not a fan of rats or mice. Never liked them, never will. Not massively keen on death either.
Where would you go if you could time travel?
I'd have to go back to the time of the dinosaurs, to see and understand their sheer size and presence.
Why should people do yoga?
Everyone's got there reasons for ending up there. If I had to say it would be to strengthen both your body and mind.
Finally, tell us something we don’t know.
I can knee myself in the face.
